Required Experience, Training & Eligibility:

- This position requires possession of a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

Shaker Table Operator–We are looking for a dayshift laborer to do a variety of tasks associated with running a shaker table. Duties including pulling unwanted material from a conveyor (shaker table). Keeping area neat and orderly. Assist with maintenance of area equipment. Successful candidate must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Position also includes some built in overtime. Weekend work is not normally mandatory. Excellent attendance is a must.
Demo Crew Labor: The Demo Laborer will be trained to safely operate torch equipment to downsize heavy metal in order to meet specs in a safe and efficient manner. They will also be trained to operate mobile equipment. The successful candidate must have excellent attendance and be able to work with minimal supervision. This position requires staying out of town 4 days per week, home Friday through Sunday. Hotels are paid and $40 a day per diem pay given to cover meals. A valid driver’s license is required and for this position a background with no felonies is required. Labors average between $900 and $1100 a week plus $160 per diem pay.
Demo Crew leader with CDL A: In this position you will be the crew leader and work with the demo crew labors to downsize heavy metal in order to meet specs in a safe and efficient manner. They will also be trained to operate mobile equipment. The successful candidate must have excellent attendance and be able to work with minimal supervision. This position requires staying out of town 4 days per week, home Friday through Sunday. Hotels are paid and $40 a day per diem pay given to cover meals. A valid driver’s license is required and for this position, a background with no felonies is required. Crew leaders typically earn between $85,000 and $90,000 annually in addition to weekly per diem pay.
Heavy Equipment Operator 2nd shift Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to operate a material handler. The ideal candidate will have mechanical knowledge and experience in heavy equipment operation. This is a second shift position with overtime available.
Duties: Operate and maintain our material handler efficiently and safely. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment. Load and unload trucks using material handler. Disperse material around yard as needed. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications: Previous experience operating heavy equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment.
Ability to work effectively without supervision. Excellent communication skills. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Warehouse Laborer/Floater:
The ideal candidate will be a team player and have forklift experience.
Job duties include unloading trucks, feeding and operating a large baler.
This is a first shift position with some overtime available.
Excellent attendance is a must.
Torch Cutter- Staiman Recycling is hiring a Torch Cutter to join our yard team in Williamsport. This is a hands-on, outdoor role ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, learning new skills, and being part of a hardworking team.
If you have experience with cutting, grinding, or working with tools—great. If not, we’re willing to train the right person with a strong work ethic and a “get it done” attitude.
What You’ll Do:
- Cut and prepare scrap metal using a torch to meet specifications
- Sort ferrous and non-ferrous materials
- Operate equipment such as an alligator shear
- Perform daily forklift inspections and basic equipment checks
- Identify hazardous materials and report concerns
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Assist with other yard duties as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience with torch cutting or grinding is a plus (not required)
- Willingness to learn and be trained
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable attendance (essential function of the job)
Physical & Work Environment:
- Regular lifting up to 50 lbs (occasionally more)
- Standing, walking, bending, and working on uneven ground throughout the day
- Exposure to outdoor elements, dust, noise, and heavy equipment
- Use of respiratory protection and required PPE
Requirements:
- Ability to pass a respirator fit test and lead testing

Yard Inspector-The Scrap Yard Inspector is responsible for monitoring the distribution of materials to verify conformance to value and quantity specifications, while ensuring compliance with the company’s safety and environmental policies. This position may include but is not limited to: identifying and removing hazardous substances, use of lift trucks, use of skid steers, picking and sorting, lifting, and use of other heavy equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Inspects shipments of material received to ensure material meets specifications and is free from environmental hazards in accordance with scrap policy.
Assists in unloading and sorting various recycled materials.
Notifies supervisors of problems and assists with procedures to correct violations or issues.
Directs unloading vehicles delivering scrap to ensure safe and orderly flow within the facility.
Provides a safe environment for all employees, customers, and visitors.
Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned.
Complies with safety regulations.
High School Diploma, GED or work related experience.
Knowledge of various metals helpful.
Ability to lift 50+lbs regularly.
Driver’s license required.
Requires outside work, and work in non-climate controlled environments year round.
Face-to-face and radio communication required daily.
Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with guests and employees.
Dependable and consistent work ethic.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Ability to stand constantly throughout shift, walk constantly, frequent use of hands, speak and hear frequently. Vision abilities include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
JOB CONDITIONS: Laborers are required to wear protective gear, safety boots, safety glasses, a hard hat, and gloves. Exposure to physical operations at metal recycling yards may include, but not be limited to, walking/climbing in active Industrial yards with uneven surfaces and out-of-the-way areas. Frequent exposure to inclement weather conditions.
